FFF is a global initiative with diverse members and hence different manifestations of the fight against climate change. However, the ideas central to the movement are common beyond local and national branches of the movement. The Working Group Strategy is a group of various national delegation at the SMILE Summit, which has been formed with the goal to develop and propose a Europe-wide long-term strategy and a vision of the FFF movement, while seeking consensus of all delegations and other participating parties.

The strategy and the vision are being determined through recognising and establishing the movement’s Values and Principles, Strategic and operational goals, and Demands. In the pre-session work, the Working Group Strategy has collected proposals for each of these three pillars from local and national initiatives. It has further worked in three subgroups to restructure and systemize the proposals into functional strategy propositions, which are to be discussed at plenaries.

Plenaries, which will take place at the SMILE Summit, comprise the basis of the FFF’s democratic decision-making process. During each plenary, the three proposition documents made by the Working Group Strategy will be presented to the assembly by members of the respective subgroups. This will be followed by questions and comments of participants, which will in turn be addressed by members of the Working Group Strategy. The Working Group Strategy will later work on advancing the propositions with respect to the comments and questions made. These changes shall be revised according to the same protocol at the following plenaries, until a consensus is reached regarding the Values and Principles, Strategic and operational goals, and Demands of the FFF Europe movement.
